David was the one who encouraged Paul to go back to work after Linda passed away. In fact, David told Paul McCartney to send his session fee for "No More Lonely Nights" to charity as he has LOADS OF MONEY (the mammoth sales of The Wall album recouped the losses Gilmour and his Pink Floyd bandmates had following their agents taking their millions from Dark Side to Animals). The two worked again on this, Run Devil Run and David also attended Macca's wedding to gold digger Heather Mills.
